Army Commander-in-Chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha Monday instructed his subordinates to tighten security around rally sites in Bangkok for fear of new rounds of violence would erupt.

He gave the instruction during a meeting of Army unit commanders to monitor the rally situation. The meeting was observed by reporters.
Prayuth ordered Army agencies concerned to closely monitor the operations of the Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order to reclaim rally sites.
Prayuth also expressed concern that there could be violence at the Pathumwan and Chaeng Wattan rally sites because people of the other side liked to show up at the rally sites.
