Police to monitor ticket-tearing protests

Deputy Metropolitan Police chief Pol Maj Gen Amnuay Nimmano on Sunday said plain-cloth policemen will monitor anti-coup movement at cinemas, which offered free King Naresuan movie tickets Sunday.

The movie tickets were handed for free as part of the operation to "return happiness to Thai people" of the National Council for Peace and Order.

The police have received report that the movement would tear the movie tickets at the cinemas as a symbol against the coup, he said. However, the police will not arrest them but will take photos for further legal actions.
