Pheu Thai MPs quit panel to prove they are sincere
In a move to prove their integrity, Pheu Thai MPs Jirayu Huangsap and Paijit Sriworakhan stepped down from the parliamentary panel investigating absentee voting after Senator Rosana Tositrakul claimed Thursday that they might be biased.
The committee met Thursday after having to postpone a meeting on Monday because Rosana failed to show up. After the meeting, the committee's chairman Senator Nikhom Wairatpanich said the panel had looked into Rosana's petition voicing concerns about the presence of government MPs.
The panel is comprised of senators as well as government and Opposition MPs.
