One Chinese worker killed in Vietnam riot: police

HANOI - One Chinese worker was killed in a riot at a Taiwanese steel plant in Vietnam, police said, as unrest linked to Beijing's deployment of an oil rig in contested waters spread.

"One Chinese worker is dead. We are trying to identify the body," a local policeman told AFP on condition of anonymity.

A Taiwanese diplomat told AFP that around 100 people were wounded in the unrest.
