Ombudsman to judge on absentee voting first
Chief Ombudsman Panit Nitithanprapas said Thursday that he would look into the case of MPs voting on the behalf of others before the case is taken to the Constitution Court.
He urged MP Chuwit Kamolvisit to hand the case over to him, because according to law, an individual is not allowed to take a case directly to the court.
"We have to first see if the case is under the Ombudsman's mandate and whether it can be taken to the Constitution Court for consideration. The court could reject the case if it finds it presumptive, therefore the Ombudsman needs to examine it thoroughly first," Panit explained.
