OECD and ERIA sign MOU

Paris-- the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD, Paris, France) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at its headquarter on Monday for cooperation in matters related to development in Southeast Asia.

"It is a milestone for a cooperation between the East Asian and European think tanks," said Prof. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA.

In the presense of Toshihiro Nikai, former Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan who contributed to creation of ERIA, Mr. Angel Gurria, Secretary-General of the OECD and Nishimura will sign Monday the MOU for collaborations in the activities in the Southeast Asia in the areas of (1) policies to support SMEs and foster entrepreneurship (2) investment in infrastructure through the use of PPPs (3) analysis on trade in value added and global value chains, and (4) disaster risk assessment and risk financing.
