Nurak elected as new Constitutional Court president

Nurak Mapraneet was Wednesday elected as the new Constitutional Court president, replacing Charoon Inthacharn who stepped down as the president.

Charoon stepped down as the court president ahead of his mandatory 70-year-old retirement on Thursday. He did not resign as a Constitutional Court judge so he will remain a judge until he retires on Thursday.

Nurak received six votes and two judges abstained.
