No tattoos for Obama daughters - or else!

Washington - The first daughters might face an embarrassing exposure on YouTube if they ever dare to have inked artwork engraved on their skin.

Father-in-chief Barack Obama laid down the law in an interview aired Wednesday on NBC television’s morning show. Malia is 14 and Sashais 11.

"What we’ve said to the girls is, ’If you guys ever decided you’re going to get a tattoo, then mommy and me will get the exact same tattoo in the same place," the president said.

"And we’ll go on YouTube and show it off as a family tattoo," he declared.

Obama said he and first lady Michelle are hoping that the threat will dissuade Malia and Sasha from thinking tattoos are "a good way to rebel."

The interview was done just hours before the Boston Marathon bombings last Monday, and NBC held off more than a week before airing the personal portions of it.

Obama laughed at a question about Michelle Obama’s headline-grabbing gaffe earlier this year that she was a "busy single mother."

Although she corrected herself in the same sentence, saying "I shouldn’t say single," the Twitter verse jumped in.

"Trouble in paradise?" tweeted The Times of India.

"An absolute insult to all real, hard working single moms," chided a tweeter by the name of KafirRob.

The president dismissed the gaffe as just a slip of the tongue, but added there may be an underlying truth to it.//DPA
