New Year casualties rise to 334 deaths, 3,041 injuries

The sixth day of the "seven dangerous New Year holidays" on Wednesday saw 68 people killed and 539 others injured in 536 road accidents nationwide, the Road Safety Directing Centre announced Thursday.

Deputy Interior Minister Visarn Techateerawat represented the centre to announce that the accumulated death toll from December 27 to New Year Day was 334 and the period saw 3,041 others injured.

Drunk driving was the biggest cause of the road accidents, he said.
