NCPO releases Karun two days ago: spokesman

Former Pheu Thai MP Karun Hosakul's whereabouts has become mysterious after a junta spokesman said Friday that he was released from military detention two days ago but his wife still demanded him to be released.

Pimchana Hosakul, Karun's wife, filed a complaint with the National Council for Peace and Order Friday to demand it to release her husband, saying he has been detained for seven days already.

However, Col Winthai Suvari, an NCPO spokesman, said Karun was released two days ago.

"The NCPO does not know where he is now but I affirm that he has been released," Winthai told a press conference.
