The National Council for Peace and Order Tuesday extended the state of emergency in the deep South for by three months, NCPO spokesman Winthai Suvari said.

The three southern most provinces Yala, Pattani and Narathiwas would remain under the state of emergency from June 20 to September 19.
Winthai said the extension of the emergency decree’s enforcement will not cover Mae Lan district in Pattani as the district has been under the enforcement of the Internal Security Act.
