Multi-coloured group submit 30,000 names against charter amendments
The Network of Civil Volunteers to Protect Motherland Thursday submitted 30,000 names of voters to Parliament to express opposition to charter amendments.
Tul Sitthisomwong, the leader of the network better known as the multi-coloured group, submitted the names to Deputy House Speaker Charoen Chankomol to oppose the amendment of Article 291.
Reading from a statement, Tul said the amendment to pave way for the establishment of a new constitution drafting assembly would enact a new charter to help former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
