Malaysia to return envoy wanted in sex case to N. Zealand

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia will send a diplomat who is facing an attempted rape charge in Wellington back to New Zealand, the foreign ministry said Wednesday, as a diplomatic storm erupted over the case.

Defence staff assistant Muhammad Rizalman Ismail escaped prosecution on attempted rape and burglary charges and returned to Malaysia in May after his country invoked diplomatic immunity.
