The International Air Transport Association, the world's largest airline network, has strengthened its calls for all governments to ensure thorough investigation into the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 and return of the bodies of the victims.

In a statement, Tony Tyler, director general and CEO of IATA, said “The tragedy of MH17 is an outrage. Over the weekend it was confirmed that the passengers and crew aboard the aircraft were the victims of a hideous crime. It was also an attack against the air transport system which is an instrument of peace."
Calling this a crime, he said it is vital that governments' promises to help are turned into action.
