Japan's ANA finds discoloured battery, leakage on Dreamliner
Tokyo - A battery under the cockpit of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner was discovered Wednesday to be discoloured and to have leaked, news reports said, citing Japan's All Nippon Airways Co (ANA).
The airline detected the discoloured battery and the leak of electrolytic solution while conducting an inspection after the Dreamliner had made an emergency landing in western Japan earlier in the day, the broadcaster NHK reported, citing company officials.
The incident prompted Japan’s two major airlines, ANA and Japan Airlines, to ground their fleets of Boeing 787 Dreamliners for inspections.//DPA
