January's consumer confidence index drops to 61.4

The January's consumer confidence index on the economy dropped to 61.4 from 63.2 last December or the lowest in the past 26 months, according to the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC)'s Consumer Confidence Index survey in January.

The falling index reflects the consumers’ lack of confidence on the economic outlook and their concerns on the political turmoil.
