It's time to go underwater : JACC chief

An Australian vessel leading the hunt for missing Malaysian jet MH370 will deploy a mini-sub "as soon as possible", the head of the search said Monday.

"Ocean Shield will cease searching with the towed pinger locator later today (Monday) and deploy the autonomous underwater vehicle Bluefin-21 as soon as possible," said Angus Houston, who fronts the Joint Agency Coordination Centre.

He said the Bluefin-21 would begin mapping the ocean floor, and would cover search area of 40 sq km and can go as deep as 4,500m.//The Star/Asia News Network
