Initial measures for rubber farmers
The national rice policy committee on Thursday approved the fertiliser subsidy of Bt1,260 per rai to rubber-growing farmers. The subsidy will be provided for upto 25 rai of plantation fields.
Earlier, the government planned to extend such subsidy to no more than 10 rai.
Deputy Prime Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong said that the benefits will be extended to those who do not own the plantation fields. However, those planting rubber trees in conservation forest areas would not be covered.
The approval is pending for the Cabinet’s approval.
