The spokesman of the Internal Security Operations Command Friday clarified that the Army chief was talking about the martial law enforcement when he said the Army might deploy troops in full force to control the situation.

Col Banphot Poonpian, the ISOC spokesman, said Prayuth was saying that if the situation deteriorated down to a level, the Army might have to enforce the martial law, which is the highest level of security law.
“It’s a measure that the Army chief announced yesterday [Thursday]. It’s a warning in line with the legal steps.”
Banphot said the military would resort to enforcing the martial law when a lot of war weapons were used to inflict deaths and injuries in several areas.
However, the ISOC has assessed the situation and believes that the current situation could still be dealt with the enforcement of the Internal Security Act, the spokesman said.
