Helicopter crash kills 5 in South Korea

Seoul - Five people died when a fire fighting helicopter crashed in South Korea's southern city of Gwangju on Thursday, broadcaster YTN TV reported.

The helicopter crashed near a school in a residential district. One high school student who stood at a bus stop was injured in the crash, according to YTN.

All five fire fighters aboard the helicopter died in the crash, the station reported, citing the fire fighting authorities.

The helicopter was reportedly on the way back to headquarters after helping in the search for people still missing after the Sewol ferry disaster in April.
