Governors to help limit rice corruption
The Interior Ministry has ordered all provincial governors to devise corruption-prevention measures for the rice-pledging scheme.
Through a video conference on Wednesday, Deputy Interior Minister Visarn Techathirawat told governors to help plug corruption loopholes.
The governors are told to a meeting with provincial committees in charge of the scheme, to put in place a corruption-detection mechanism, to report any irregularities to the ministry as soon as possible, and to ensure the cost efficiency.
Governors are also to discuss with provincial officials of the Agriculture and Commerce ministries.
