GLO pays farmers Bt1.3 million to end blockade

The Government Lottery Office Friday agreed to pay Bt1.3 million for 112 tonnes of rice to end farmers' blockade of its office.



GLO deputy director Wimollak Boonyingyongsathit agreed to pay the money after farmers dumped the rice in front of the office and blocked its gates.
Wimollak told Luangpu Buddha Issara that money would be given in form financial assistance to the monks’ foundation.
She said the monk had to advance the money from his foundation to farmers and his foundation would be able cash the cheque of GLO on March 26.
The farmers agreed to end the blockade of the GLO following the negotiation.
