Foreign Ministry assures 40 nations' diplomats no security threat
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Friday urged the nine countries having retained their advisory against travelling to Thailand to drop the warning about possible terrorist attacks in the kingdom.
Sihasak Puangketkaew, the permanent secretary for foreign affairs, Friday briefed foreign diplomats from more than 40 countries about the latest situation in Thailand. He told them that the advisory did not reflect the current situation after a suspected terrorist was arrested and security measures were stepped up in the country.
He called on the nine countries to review or lift the warning against travelling to Thailand. Those countries consist of the United Kingdom, Australia, Austria, Taiwan, South Korea, Italy, Japan, Romania, and Canada.
