Exports up 7.2% in June

Thailand's export in June grew 7.2 per cent from the same period last year, the strongest expansion in 17 months since January last year, according to data from the Commerce Ministry.

The shipment contracted 1.22 per cent in the first five months of the year.

Exports pick up at the time when the baht is strengthening against US dollar, due to renewed capital inflows. The Thai baht is now standing above the $/Bt32 level.
