Kuala Lumpur - Malaysian Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein on Friday said he would leave it to experts to decide whether the four-hour lag time in alerting the Malaysian rescue centre over the missing Malaysia Airlines jetliner was reasonable.

Hishammuddin said that French aviation expert Jean-Paul Troadec, who headed the Air France 447 investigation team, had told him that in the case of Air France it took six to seven hours before the rescue centre was alerted.
"I would leave it to the panel of experts to decide whether four, six or seven hours is reasonable or not," he said in a press briefing.
