Erawan Emergency Medical Service Center updates clash toll at 1 death, 143 injuries

One police officer was killed and at least 143 people including anti-government protesters, journalists and police officers were injured after violence erupted at the Bangkok Youth Centre (Thai-Japan) aka the Thai-Japanese Stadium yesterday, according to the state emergency medical service agency.

Police Senior Sergeant Major Narong Pitisitthi, 45, died after being shot in right chest during the clashes with protesters at the Thai-Japanese Stadium.

Among those injured people, 30 of them admitted to hospital and four of them were critical condition, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Erawan Emergency Medical Service Center reports on Fridays.

The first man who was shot by gun at his head now has received surgery and was recovering in Rajvithi hospital.
