Dow up 83 points to 10th straight all-time high
New York - The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed to 14,539.14 Thursday, reaching another all-time high and a 10th straight day of gains.
The 30-stock blue-chip index rose 83.86 points, or 0.6 per cent, in trading Thursday to achieve its longest winning streak since 1996.
The broad-based Standard and Poor’s 500 Index got within two points of its record high. The S&P 500 rose 0.6 per cent to 1,563.23, its highest level since October 2007.
The technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index rose 13.81 points, or 0.43 per cent to 3,258.93.
