Do not text while driving, drivers told

Police have warned drivers about using their smartphones to text or chat while driving, deputy metropolitan police commissioner Pol Maj Gen Adul Narongsak said on Wednesday.

The warning came after it was found that some drivers were placing their mobile phone in a holder and attaching the holder to the steering wheels so as to be able to enter text while driving.

Adul reminded road users that this practice is illegal as the law prohibits using a phone while driving. Any offender will be fined between Bt400 and Bt1,000.
