Court to begin hearings against accused MPs
The Supreme Court's Election Division is scheduled to hear a red card case against Pheu Thai Party Bangkok MP constituency 12 Karun Hosakul, on March 14, chairman Chaiyasit Trachutham said Wednesday.
The Election Commission has red-carded Karun for allegedly defaming Democrat Party MP candidate Thaenkun Jitissara and the Democrat Party during his election campaign on June 3, 2011 at the Bunanant market and at Kosum Ruamjai market on June 12 2011.
Other election cases the court will hear this year include that against Somkiat Traisaranapanya, Democrat Si Sa Ket MP candidate, who is accused of buying votes. The EC has red-carded Somkiat and revoked his election rights for five years. The court has scheduled the first hearing on January 15.
