The Cabinet Tuesday transferred Chiang Mai Governor M.L. Panadda Dissakul to an inactive position of deputy permanent secretary.

When Panadda was appointed the Chiang Mai governor by the Democrat government, he announced that he would not tolerate illegal or violent activities of the red-shirt protesters.
In June 2011, Pheu Thai member Chalerm Yoobamrung said Pannadda would definitely face the axe if the Pheu Thai won an election and became a coalition leader.
