Charter amendment debate suspended 15 minutes following heated exchange of criticisms
The charter amendment debate was suspended for 15 minutes after Pheu Thai and Democrat MPs exchanged heated criticisms related to the 2010 crackdowns on red-shirt people.
Deputy Senate Speaker Thiradej Meepian decided to suspend the meeting for 15 minutes at 1 pm after the MPs were engaged in a debate irrelevant to charter amendment.
The exchanged of criticisms started after a Pheu Thai MP mentioned the 2010 crackdowns, prompting Democrat's former deputy prime minister Suthep Thaugsuban to protest.
Suthep and Pheu Thai MP Jatuporn Promphan then exchanged criticisms until Thiradej cut them short by suspending the meeting.
