Chalerm dismisses coup possibility

Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung Monday expressed confidence that there would be no more coup as predicted by well-known Thammasat University sociologist Theerayuth Boonme.

Chalerm said the country has been developed too far for another coup to happen. Chalerm said a coup always led to conflicts and caused a post-coup government to be short-lived.

He said the Yingluck Government would not cause violence so there would be no cause for a coup.
