Caretaker govt under legal limits to set up reform council: Phongthep
Caretaker deputy prime minister Phongthep Thepkanjana said Tuesday that although every side agrees that some kind of national reform council needs to be set up, it would be difficult to so legally.
The Cabinet would take up the matter for consideration but the caretaker government faces limitations to what it can do. Issuing an executive decree would be difficult while a royal decree would need legislation to accommodate it. And a Cabinet resolution would require the Election Commission's prior approval.
