Cabinet asks Council of State to consider Yingluck's status as defence minister

The Cabinet Thursday asked the Office of the Council of State to study the Constitutional Court's ruling to determine whether ex-PM Yingluck Shinawatra is still the defence minister.

The court ruled Wednesday to remove Yingluck as the prime minister without mentioning her defence portfolio.

Deputy Prime Minister Phongthep Thepkanjana said the ruling was not clear so the Council of State is now discussing Yingluck's status as the defence minister.
