The Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order has told banks to lift the freezing of accounts of 39 leaders of the People's Democratic Reform Committee and three businesses, Department of Special Investigation chief Tarit Pengdith said Tuesday.
Tarit said the lifting of the account freezing was done following the order of the Civil Court that told the CMPO not to enforce the emergency decree against peaceful rallies of the PDRC.
Tarit said the lifting of the freezing was reported to CMPO director Chalerm Yoobamrung during a meeting Tuesday.
The 39 PDRC leaders whose accounts’ transactions could resume included Dr Seree Wongmontha, Tharit said.
The businesses that were allowed to resume transactions of their accounts include the Krua Rajdamnoen (Rajdamnoen Kitchen) whose account is for gathering public donations for PDRC activities.
