New York - An 11-year-old boy who went missing last week after a fight with his mother reportedly rode the New York City subway for five days before being found, The New York Times reported Tuesday.
After a search was launched for the missing Kareem Granton, including notifications posted around New York, a subway rider spotted the boy Monday and notified a police officer.
"It was a very big world," Kareem said, according to The New York Times. "I didn't think I would probably make it."
Kareem ran away from home with a friend Wednesday after a fight with his mother, Precious Granton. On their way to a local mall, Kareem got lost on the subway after getting separated from his friend.
His mother said: "I wanted to be jumping like I won a million dollars that my son was back."
