The Star/ANN - Bank and credit cards have suddenly appeared in areas near the MH17 crash site, catching investigators by surprise.
Organisation for the Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) spokesman Michael Bociurkiw said his team found these cards near one of the impact sites.
“For the first time, we noticed identification documents, ID cards and bank cards. We’ve been going there frequently and we did not detect them previously,” he told reporters here on Friday evening.
It is not known who might have placed these cards there. However, previous reports have alleged that credit cards belonging to victims of MH17 have been recently used.
Bociurkiw said that the MH17 cockpit had been “severely” cut into, and that it had been “opened up”.
Three separatists wearing Ukrainian Ministry of Interior uniforms had been checking a large piece of fuselage in a heavily wooded area, he said.
