Bangkok sets to clean up footpaths
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is removing unlicensed banners and phone booths, as part of its mission to clean up footpaths throughout the capital city.
After the city council’s meeting, BMA spokesperson Tridao Apaiwong said the clean-up will focus on three things - unlicensed advertisement banners, unlicensed phone booths and the motorcycle taxi stations.
Last week, BMA has removed 3,118 unlicensed banners and legal actions will be taken against the owners, for causing damage to public properties - trees and footpaths. Civil lawsuits will also be launched.
