Bangkok Metropolitan Administration on Tuesday will approve the budget allocation for the 2014 fiscal year.

BMA has been allocated a total of Bt65 billion. For the fiscal year, starting September 1, the environment unit will win the highest sum, at Bt7.1 billion - to cover waste landfilling, waste-collecting services, upgrade of waste incinerators, and a study for a new waste incinerator.
Winning the second highest sum, Bt5.6 billion, is the unit in charge of traffic and transport. Much of this sum will go to BTS Group Holdings, the operator of the BTS skytrain. The rest will partially finance the skywalk, which will replace the Taksin BTS station. The unit also has plans to install more CCTVs and invest in a monorail project.
