BMCL prepared for shutdown

Bangkok Metro (BMCL), the operator of MRT subway, is prepared for the greater number of commuters starting from January 13.



Chaiwat Utaiwan, managing director of the company, said that the operating system has been tested while the number of personnel has been increased. More ticketing booths will be opened at stations where the number of passengers is expected to rise sharply. 
The MRT has 18 stations. According to the Transport Ministry, the "Bangkok shutdown" would affect 9 MRT stations.
