BEC fined Bt500,000 for airing bare-breast Thailand's Got Talent
Bangkok Entertaintment Company (BEC), the operator of Thai TV3, had been fined Bt500,000 by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC) over its mistake to air a female contestant painted on canvas with her bare breasts on its prime time show Thailand's Got Talent on Sunday.
Perapong Manakij, chairman of the NBTC's subcommittee on programming and content, said Wednesday that under the Broadcasting Act 2010, the fine was a high level penalty in case of violate the article 37 because the TV station failed to self-censor an inappropriate content that was screened on its primetime programme.
