Sydney - A sequel to a smash hit Australian air disaster feature film has been postponed in the wake of the loss of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, news reports said Tuesday.
Deep Water, a follow up to Bait 3D, was shelved because the plot line is of a plane crashing into the Pacific Ocean on its way from China.
The Hollywood Reporter said the proposed film had "uncomfortable similarities" with MH370.
"Out of sensitivity to the Malaysia flight situation, we've decided to put it on pause for now," Gary Hamilton, managing director of Arclight Films, was reported as telling the entertainment industry paper.
Bait 3D focused on shoppers trapped with a gunman and a great white shark in a flooded underground supermarket after a tsunami crashes ashore on Australia's coast. It was a huge hit in China.
