2 woman, 2 soldiers injured in motorcycle bomb in Pattani



Pattani - Insurgents detonated a homemade bomb hidden in a motorcycle at a market in this southern border province, injuring two women and two solders Friday morning.

The explosion occurred at the Theswiwat Market in Muang district at 7:30 am.

Police said the bomb was detonated with a mobile phone.

Jai Fongsuwan, 46, a vendor, and Waraporn Chusup, 42, a shopper, were injured along with Pvt Suthat Phuhom, 22, and Sgt Maj 3rd Class Phansak Ocha, 44.

Police said the insurgents parked the motorcycle in the market and detonated the bomb with a group of soldiers arrived for shopping for their fresh foods.
