Controversial medical buying list to be reviewed
The Public Health Ministry will revise its list of medical items to be bought under the Thai Khemkaeng stimulus package for district health promotion and prevention centres, deputy permanent secretary Dr Siriwat Tiptaradol said Thursday.
The move comes after the Health Professional Association asked the ministry to review the procurement list on the grounds some items were expensive and others not proper for use in district health promotion and prevention centres.
The ministry's bureau of policy and strategy previously listed 46 medical items for purchase under the Thai Khemkaeng budget.
The government allocated over Bt 4 billion to the Public Health Ministry to support the district health promotion and prevention centres and to buy the medical items.
