Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said Tuesday that Trairong Suwankhiri will replace Korbsak Sabhavasu as deputy prime minister in charge of economic affairs sometime before the yearend.

He said Korbsak needs to stay to finish his work related to rice trade before he will be replaced by Trairong.

Asked to give a specific timeframe when Trairong will take office, Abhisit said it will depend on when Korbsak will finish his task.

Asked whether Korbsak will stay in office until the new year, Abhisit replied: "It won't be that long".
