3 officials killed, 4 injured in bombing ambush in Yala



Yala - Insurgents detonated a bomb to ambush a team of assistant district chief of Yaha district and defence volunteers Saturday afternoon, killing three of them and injuring four others.

The bomb was buried under the dirt road and was detonated with a wired remote control to attack the pick-up truck of the officials on the Ban Tanyong-Ban Tiang Road in Tambon Baroh in Yaha district at 1:30 pm.

The officials were heading to a village along the road after they received complaint that insurgents fell a tree to block the road.

The insurgents opened fire at the officials after the pick-up truck was overturned with the blast.

Amorn Chumchuan, assistant Yaha district chief was among the four injured.

The three slain volunteers were Suamae Ahwae, Yongyuth Phetchamnian an d Muhammad Bangosanor.
