Former foreign minister Noppadon Pattama said former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra asked him to tell the red-shirts people to cancel their plan to hold a birthday celebration for Thaksin at Sanam Luang Wednesday evening.

Noppadon, a former legal advisor for Thaksin, said Thaksin appreciated the red-shirts' good intention but he saw that it was inappropriate to have his birthday party held at Sanam Luang .
