Red-shirts to defy ban on holding Thaksin's birthday party at Sanam Luang

The red-shirt movement will go ahead to rally at Sanam Luang Wednesday to hold a birthday party for former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Shinawat Haboonpak, chairman of the Taxi Drivers Club, said although Bangkok Governor Sukhumbhan Paribatra did not allow the red-shirts to hold the rally, they would go head rally at the public ground from 10 am to midnight.

He said Thaksin would also make a phone-in to address the demonstrators.
