Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva insisted on Sunday that the government has no plan to privatise the State Railway of Thailand.

He said the government was simply planning to reorganize the state enterprise by separating rail service from assets management by setting up two separate rail unit and asset management unit.

Speaking during his weekly TV programme, Abhisit said the SRT unionists protested last week because they misunderstood the government's plan.
