Yala - A policeman and a soldier were killed in a clash with insurgents that also killed a suspect Saturday morning.

The clash occurred at 7:55 am when police of Bannang Sata district police station and soldiers of Taskforce 15 besieged a house in the district to try to arrest insurgents inside.

Following the exchange of gunfire, Sopepun Buenae, 26, a suspected insurgent, was shot dead.

Pol Sgt Maj Pongsathorn Niraphai of the Bannang Sata station and Sergeant Major 3rd Class Sangsun Kalong, 39, were killed. Cpl Kamron Jommas, 24, was severely injured.
